Professional Plan Documentation
Everything you need to run your team's training in your dedicated branch: adding users, assigning courses, tracking progress, and handling seats and billing on the Professional plan. If you cannot find an answer here, email support and we will point you in the right direction.
Getting started
Welcome to Open Source Six Sigma. This guide is for the SixCamp Professional plan: training for your whole team, with complete courseware for all three belts, Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and Black Belt, managed through your own dedicated branch.
Training runs on TalentLMS, our learning platform. Emails to you and your team will come from TalentLMS or Open Source Six Sigma.
Here is what happens after checkout:
- Our team is notified of your purchase and begins setting up your dedicated branch.
- Within 24 hours, usually sooner, you receive an email with your account details, including your branch admin login.
- Log in, add your team, and start training. The sections below walk through each step.
Your dedicated branch
Every Professional plan includes a dedicated branch at no extra cost: your own private space inside our training platform. With your branch you can:
- Add and remove users yourself, whenever you want.
- Assign courses to your users.
- See how each person is performing and pull reports.
Other clients never see your branch, and you never see theirs. Open Source Six Sigma owns and operates the underlying platform; you own everything that happens inside your branch: the users you add, the courses you assign, the progress you track, and the reports you pull.
Your branch is limited by the number of seats on your plan. A seat is one active user at a time.
Who does what
Day to day, three roles matter:
- Branch admin: you, or a manager you designate. Adds users, assigns courses, tracks progress, and pulls reports inside the branch.
- Learners: your team members or students. They log in, complete courses, and earn certificates.
- OSSS support: everything outside your branch, including billing and seat changes, resending welcome emails, branch-level configuration, and course content updates.
If you are not sure whether something is on your side or ours, send us a quick email and we will point you in the right direction.
Adding users to your branch
To add a user:
- Log in with your branch admin account.
- Click Add User in quick actions. You can also click the user icon in the left-hand navigation.
- Fill in the user's information and click Save. Required fields: First Name, Last Name, Email, Username.
Once you save, an automatic welcome email goes out to the new user with their login details. If it does not arrive, have them check spam, then go to osss.talentlms.com and use Forgot password with the email address you entered; or ask us to resend it.
Each active user takes one seat. If you are out of seats, see the seats and billing section below. Adding a large team at once? Email support and we will help you load your users.
Enrolling users in courses
Once a user is in your branch, you can enroll them in any course available to your plan, from either direction:
- From the course: go to Courses, open the course, open its Users tab, click Enroll to course, and add the users you want.
- From the user: go to Users, open the user, open their Courses tab, and click Enroll to course.
Course materials and data files
Courses include downloadable practice materials: Minitab data files for hands-on statistical exercises and project templates like FMEA, SIPOC, Project Charter, and Control Plans.
To get them, learners open the course: a button inside the course links the files.
About the software: Minitab and SigmaXL are two of the main software tools used in Lean Six Sigma projects. Each is a separate subscription purchased directly from its own website; neither is included in, or sold through, your SixCamp plan.
Deactivating users: deactivate, do not delete
If a learner finishes their training, leaves your organization, or pauses access for any reason, deactivate them instead of deleting them. Deactivation:
- Preserves all of their progress, completed courses, and certificates.
- Removes their access to the branch.
- Frees up the seat so you can add someone else without buying more seats.
- Lets you reactivate the same user later with their full history intact.
Deletion permanently removes the user and their records. In almost every case, deactivation is the right move.
Step-by-step instructions: TalentLMS help: how to deactivate users.
Reactivating a returning user
If a user comes back, even months or a year later, reactivate their same account. They pick up exactly where they left off. There is no need to create a new user or re-enroll them in anything they had already started.
- One user: open their profile from the Users list and set their status back to Active.
- Several users: select them in the Users list, then open Mass actions and choose Activate.
A reactivated user takes up a seat again.
Reports and progress
The Reports tab in your admin view is the place to start.
- User reports: go to Reports, then Users, and select a user. Click Export in Excel to download a report covering their progress, results for tests and learning activities, certificates, and total training time.
- Course reports: go to Reports, then Courses, and select a course. The export covers the progress of everyone assigned to that course.
Tip: export a user's report before deactivating them if you want an offline record of their training history.
Adding seats and billing
A seat is one active user at a time. To add a user beyond your current seat count:
- Open Manage your subscription, linked in your order confirmation email. Your current seat count is shown there.
- Change the seat quantity.
Seats added between renewals are billed pro-rated. We send a separate invoice covering just the remainder of the current billing period. For example, at $29 per seat per month, a seat added halfway through the month is invoiced at $14.50. From the next renewal, the seat bills at the normal rate with the rest of your subscription.
Prefer we handle it? Email support and we will adjust your seat count for you.
FAQ and getting help
I have not received my branch setup email. It arrives within 24 hours of purchase, usually sooner. Check your spam and promotions folders first, then email support and we will resend your details.
A user never received their welcome email, or lost it. Email support with the user's name and email address. We resend it from our admin panel; there is no resend button on your side. We handle these the same business day.
What is a seat? One active user at a time. If your plan includes 25 seats, you can have 25 active users at once. Deactivating a user frees up their seat.
Can I add more seats later? Yes. See the seats and billing section above, or email us and we will adjust it for you.
Where are the license terms? Every SixCamp plan license is on our licensing page, where you can read or download the full agreement.
Anything else: email support@opensourcesixsigma.com or use our contact page. We respond within one business day. Include your company name or the email you purchased with so we can find your account faster.
